‘Udta Punjab’ faces hurdles from Censor Board

The upcoming movie ‘Udta Punjab’s director Abhishek Choubey is in a big trouble as A member of Udta Punjab’s production house is demanding for the removal of cuss words from the film and should be edited out as soon as possible and regarding this matter CBFC had not yet given a certificate to the movie.

The director, the producers at Phantom Films and Balaji Films, and CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani were unavailable for comment.

One of our close source reveals, “The film is based on the drug problem in Punjab, the character played by Shahid Kapoor, that of a musician, is liberal with expletives.”

This problem arised because the film promo was released earlier this month, was released under adult certification without any cuts and beeps.

Currently a committee headed by veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal was set up by the I&B Ministry to look into the matter and also to upgrade the outdated Cinematograph Act of 1952.

Most of the ‘Udta Punjab’ team were unavailable for the comment. Lets see what is the fate of the film but we all wish this problem should be sorted out asap.
