The film opened at Rs 10.94 crore on Friday, it then collected another Rs 13.17 crore on Saturday and Rs 14.12 crore on Sunday, to take its total domestic box office collection to Rs 38.23 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed, “#Tamasha has a strong weekend. Fri 10.94 cr, Sat 13.17 cr, Sun 14.12 cr. Total: Rs 38.23 cr. India biz.”
People have started to like the film and a positive word of mouth has initiated too. The film also doesn’t have any competition at the domestic box office and hence it will continue to do well over this week.
Exhibitor and distributor, Akshaye Rathi had earlier also mentioned, “Courtesy the star cast and especially Deepika Padukone, the film will appeal to the youth and I see the film performing well in the urban cities and multiplexes. The film will definitely benefit from Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor‘s return together after Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. They are a fantastic pair and it will be interesting to see them work together again after a few years. Their chemistry will definitely get eyes rolling”
