Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone relive the era of the regal Peshwas. Both the ladies are beautifully adorned in traditional Maratha jewellery. The green bangles symbolize marriage while the earrings worn in the upper part of the ear is called bugadi. Dippy and Priyanka are also wearing the cummerbund, vel (stringed earrings) and Kolhapuri Saj (necklace). Both the divas have an identical hairstyle – the bun, which is called the khopa.
The number Pingaa is a lavani with folk and classical elements infused in it. It has been choreographed by Remo D’Souza over a period of 12 days. Pingaa has been shot in a larger than life set with over 50 background dancers. The actresses reportedly rehearsed for it for more than 10 days. After Devdas, this will be the second time when one will see two great contemporary actresses dancing in the same frame. Priyanka plays the role of Kashibai, Bajirao’s first wife while Mastani is the woman he loves. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Peshwa Bajirao, the legendary Maratha warrior. A lot of thought went into the costumes that are designed by veteran designer Anju Modi.
